project Overview
Art in Session, a non-profit organization providing resources for creatives, and West Edge, West LA's premier location for living, dining, and socializing, have teamed up to provide a unique opportunity to local artists and the community through a celebration of large scale art.
Throughout the week of July 10-15, 4,000 square feet of walls covering unoccupied retail spaces at West Edge will be transformed with murals. The community is invited to watch the progress unfold during live painting hours. On Saturday, July 15, we will celebrate the completion of the murals and close out West Edge Art Week.

More about Art IN Session
Ania Amador started the Mural Maze Collective in 2013 at Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida. As the collection of art has expanded in the Mural Maze, so has the opportunity for each artist. Muralists are invited to complete a large scale mural in three days before the festival begins, as well as exhibit and sell art in the collective gallery during the event. This hands on experience and guidance from other artists in the community has been life changing for those that have completed the program. Many of the artists have continued on to pursue full time careers as professional artists and are stepping into leadership roles to share their experiences.
In 2020, festivals and events came to a halt. Ania utilized this time in quarantine to create content around her experience as a professional artist, and establish the platform Art in Session for artists and teachers to share resources for all creatives. In addition to her own workshops, including Murals and More, Financial Accounting for Artists, and The Art of Business, Ania has produced courses for other teachers, such as Landscapes 101, Photoshop 101, and more. Art in Session has expanded this library into 2023, creating new content and offering hands on experience to artists in the program.
